In the 1950s, '60s and early '70s the 2-bar facemask was a standard style worn by position players such as quarterbacks, running backs, receivers and defensive backs. Riddell has borrowed a page from the past in bringing back the glorious grey 2-bar facemask in its replica mini Throwback helmets. These 2-bar Throwbacks also use grey closed cel foam to mimic that worn in the era. We've also resurrected authentic Riddell logos that are printed onto the chinstraps and back of the helmet, just as they were back then. There are no front and back Riddell nameplates, because they didn't exist back then. The chinstrap uses a stud-and-buckle mechanism that allows it to be snapped and unsnapped like the real thing.
